Dalam simulasi ini, kita dapat melihat adanya gaya tarik-menarik dan tolak-menolak antara atom yang dipengaruhi oleh jarak dan energi potensial. Ketika dua atom berada sangat dekat, gaya tolak-menolak akan dominan karena elektron dan inti atom saling mengganggu. Sebaliknya, pada jarak tertentu, terjadi gaya tarik yang membuat atom dapat membentuk ikatan sementara. Simulasi ini juga memperlihatkan grafik energi potensial terhadap jarak antar atom. Titik minimum pada grafik menunjukkan jarak paling stabil yang disebut panjang ikatan. Jika atom terlalu jauh, gaya tarik melemah dan atom tidak saling berikatan. Pilih jenis atom yang ingin diamati (misalnya Neon atau Argon). Atur jarak antar atom dengan cara menyeret (drag) salah satu atom.
